THE REAL BIO

NATE HESSBURNG
I fell in love with the theater very early on. I began performing for my grandparents and their neighbors up at the cabin by putting on cabaret shows. I would lip-sync to Dirty Dancing, do silly physical comedy routines, and had my one and only attempt at stand-up comedy...all for the ticket price of 50 cents. Since then I have studied theater at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. I performed in MacBeth, The Birds, The Foreigner, Once Upon a Mattress, Something's Afoot, and was nominated for an Irene Ryan award for my performance in The Three Sisters.
After Graduating, I performed in a few shows for the St. Croix Valley Summer Theater in River Falls, Wisconsin. These roles included Pseudolus in ...Forum, Linus in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Vic in Funny Money, and Uncle Max in The Sound of Music. Once I made it back to the cities, I performed in a few shows around town (Six Degrees of Separation, Sober Cab, Boys in the Band, The Nerd) before joining Urban Samurai. I am the only member to have been an actor in every show. To say that Urban Samurai has become one of my main goals in life would be an understatement. I hope to devote myself to this group.
In my spare time (which I have very little of) you can see me performing with the improv troupe ComedySportz. This is a group I have been a part of since my high school years.
Comedy comes easy, drama takes some work. In the end I just love being on stage.
I love you mom and dad!
