THE REAL BIO

EMILY BLANCHARD
Emily is from the Twin Cities and has had a love for theater and performance from a young age. After High School, she moved to San Diego, California where Emily joined the Mesa College Theater Company and spent the next 3 years working on productions such as "Arsenic and Old Lace", "Waiting for Godot" and "Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean". Her time with the Mesa Mafia was a tremendous learning experience and she transferred to the UCLA, School of Theater, Film and Television in 2002. UCLA proved to be a challenging place for Emily, where one of the greatest highlights was taking a workshop with Sir Anthony Hopkins himself. Emily graduated from UCLA in 2004 and decided to return to Minneapolis to pursue her career. In addition to pursuing her theatrical goals, Emily has worked as a model doing regular appearances for ShopNBC and spokes modeling for the National Auto Show and the Chrysler Corporation. In the last three years, Emily has had the opportunity to work with some excellent theater companyÕs such as Mixed Blood, In the Basement and of course Urban Samurai. Emily's first production with Urban Samurai was in the 2005 production of "Quarter Life Crisis" written and directed by Aaron Christopher. Since then she has performed in "Protection Program" and most recently in "Closer" playing the part of Alice. Emily is the newest member to Urban Samurai and she is thrilled to be part of such an artistically promising company, as well as the performance community of Minneapolis, where Emily is able to pursue acting and modeling alongside so many talented people.
